How to move to NYC... recap

This list doesn’t encompass all you should know, but this 9-point system will help you structure a plan to position yourself best as a newcomer to NYC

So, to recap: before you move, date the city, get lost—pick a neighborhood. When it’s time to move, decide: how are you moving? On your own or with a moving company?

Housing—What resources are you using to find your new home?

Your work—have your work down pat prior to arriving. And if you are seeking work, remember the strategy: industry, specialize and use temp agencies.

Stabilize yourself in a specific area/neighborhood to establish yourself.

Building relationships—personal and professional. Think about all of the relationships you can be a part of.

Socialize, and show us who you believe you are.

And lastly, you are not a consumer. Do not spend your time finding ways to spend your money unless that benefits you.

And that’s my list! Have fun, follow your intuition, get money, don’t spend money, and do your thing!
